About the Role
SP Business Brokerage, a division of Sunipro, is seeking experienced, self-directed business brokers to join our experienced team of M&A sell-side advisory professionals with 100+ years of combined deal experience on a fully remote, success fee-based basis. In this role, you will independently originate and manage engagements — from identifying business owners considering an exit to closing transactions with private equity groups and strategic acquirers. You will own the entire client relationship, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the sale process.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and originate. Identify and engage small to mid-size business owners ($1M–$50M+ in revenue) who are exploring or open to a sale transaction through outbound outreach, referral networks, and industry relationships.
- Secure representation agreements. Educate business owners on the sell-side advisory process, build trust, and execute exclusive representation agreements.
- Prepare CIM and marketing materials. Coordinate the development of confidential information memorandums (CIMs), executive summaries, and financial overviews that position the business effectively to buyers.
- Run a structured sale process. Manage buyer outreach to PE firms, family offices, and strategic acquirers; coordinate NDAs, management presentations, LOIs, and due diligence workstreams.
- Negotiate and close. Advocate for seller interests through term negotiation, deal structuring, and transaction close in coordination with legal and accounting advisors.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in business brokerage, M&A advisory, investment banking, or corporate development
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, originate deals, and close engagements independently
- Strong understanding of business valuation fundamentals and deal structuring (asset vs. stock, earnouts, seller notes)
- Existing relationships with PE firms, family offices, or strategic buyers preferred
- Comfortable with remote, self-managed work and a results-driven compensation structure
- Texas business broker or real estate license preferred– Residence in the Greater Houston region preferred
- You will be required to be an exclusive broker for Sunipro SP Business Brokerage
Compensation
- This is a 100% success fee role structured as an independent contractor (1099) engagement. Success fee is earned at close, paid out within 3-5 business days (depending on transaction size) and is calculated as a percentage of total transaction value. Success fee split with the brokerage is above industry average and commiserate with experience and skill set on a case-by-case basis. High performers have uncapped earning potential across multiple simultaneous engagements.
